Shipping Methods help to clearly communicate how an order will be shipped, delivered, or picked up.
How to List Out Shipping Methods
By default, your shipping methods contain the following options:
- UPS
- Fedex
- USPS
- Local Delivery
- Pickup
Depending on the carrier you use, you may want to add some other options. You can create additional shipping methods by clicking the "New Shipping Method" button. You can also get more specific or creative with Shipping Methods. For instance, maybe you always ship via UPS, but you get the labels in different ways. You could use the following shipping methods:
- UPS - Our Account
- UPS - Customer Account
- UPS - Customer Supplied Label
You could also specify different shipping methods within a single carrier:
- UPS Ground
- UPS 3 Day
- UPS Second Day Air
- UPS Next Day Air
How Do I Edit Shipping Methods?
If you would like to edit shipping methods, just click "Edit" next to that shipping method. Please note that if you edit a shipping method, it will change that shipping method on all of your existing orders. For this reason, it is not recommended to make changes to a shipping method once you have already used that shipping method on an order.
For example, if your shop used to use UPS, but switches over to DHL, you wouldn't want to change the name of the shipping method. This would change all of your old UPS orders to DHL causing all of your past orders to be inaccurate.
Instead, we recommend creating a new shipping method for your DHL Shipments.
If you no longer use UPS, and want to remove that as an option when creating an order, you can Archive the UPS shipping method.
How Do I Archive Shipping Methods?
To Archive a Shipping Method, just click "Archive" next to that shipping method. When you Archive a shipping method, it will no longer appear as an option on new invoices, but the shipping method will still appear on older invoices.
If you ever want to use that shipping method in the future, just click restore. Once, you restore a shipping method, you will be able to select it on any orders.
Can I Permanently Delete Shipping Methods?
Yes, you can permanently delete shipping methods in DecoGro if the shipping method has not been used in any orders.
To delete a shipping method, it must first be archived, then click "Delete" next to that shipping method.
You cannot delete shipping methods which are being used on orders.
