What is an Approval?
In DecoGro, an approval can be used anytime you want your customer to sign and approve an order. Your customer can electronically sign to approve a quote, artwork, or the order as whole. By using approvals, you make sure that you and your customer are on the same page and avoid any potential miscommunication. To learn more about requesting approvals, Click Here.
How Do I Add a New Approval Type?
To add a new approval type, click the New Approval Type button. From here you can enter the approval type name and the message your customer see when they click on the approval.
The approval name will be displayed on the invoice your customer receives, along with buttons to approve or decline.

The Message for Customer will appear when they click the Approve button.
How Do I Edit Approval Types?
If you would like to edit an approval type, just click "Edit" next to the approval type. Please note, this will change the approval name and message for any existing orders with this approval type. If you don't want to impact existing orders, we recommend creating a new approval type.
How Do I Archive Approval Types?
To Archive an approval type, just click "Archive" next to the approval type. When you Archive an approval type, it will no longer appear as an option on new invoices, but the approval type will still appear on older invoices.
If you ever want to use the approval type in the future, just click restore. Once, you restore an approval type, you will be able to select it on any orders.
Can I Permanently Delete Approval Types?
Yes, you can permanently delete an approval type in DecoGro if the approval type has not been used in any orders.
To delete an approval type, it must first be archived, then click "Delete".
You cannot delete an approval type that is used on any existing order.
What are the Common Approval Types Used By Shops?
By default, your account will only have one approval type called "Artwork and Quote Approval". Most shops choose to use only this single approval type, and have a customer sign off on the entire order (Artwork and Quote) before the order goes into production. This is the simplest way to make sure you get approval on the order without adding too many steps.
Some shops prefer to have multiple approval types throughout the ordering process such as
- Quote Approval before starting on art or mockups
- Art Approval or Mockup Approval once mockups are complete
- Final Approval before production begins
- Pickup Approval confirming that the order is complete and correct at time of pickup
You can add a new approval type for any process or part of the order that you want your customer to approve!
