What are Payment Terms in DecoGro?
Payment Terms describe how quickly payment is due on an invoice. For example, you may have some customers on Net 7 or Net 30 terms. By properly utilizing Payment Terms, you can track if any of these payments are past due.
Typically, if you always get paid up front or expect payment immediately on all orders, you don't need to use this feature. In this case, payment is due on the invoice date, and would become past due the day after the invoice date.
How Do I Add Payment Terms?
To add new Payment Terms, click the New Payment Term button. From here you can add a name and define when the payment is due.
When defining payment due date, please note this is the number of days after the invoice date. For example, if you want to offer Net 30 terms, you would enter 30. If you want payment to be due on the invoice date, you would enter 0.
Can I Select a Default Payment Term?
You can select one payment term to be your default payment terms. This means that anytime you create a new order, it will use the default payment terms. You can always manually change the payment terms inside of each order.
Can I Edit Payment Terms for Specific Customers?
Yes, you can edit payment terms for specific customers.
To edit payment terms settings for an entire company, go to the company details page for that company, then click on the payment settings tab.
To edit payment terms settings for a specific contact within a company, go to the contact details page for that contact, then click on the payment settings tab.
How Do I Edit Payment Terms?
If you would like to edit payment terms, just click "Edit" next to the payment terms. This will not change the payment due date of any existing orders with these payment terms.
To avoid confusion, if you want to change the name or number of days in payment terms, we recommend creating new payment terms instead.
How Do I Archive Payment Terms?
To Archive payment terms, just click "Archive" next to the payment terms. When you Archive payment terms, it will no longer appear as an option on new invoices, but the payment terms will still appear on older invoices.
If you ever want to use the payment terms in the future, just click restore. Once, you restore payment terms, you will be able to select it on any orders.
Can I Permanently Delete Payment Terms?
Yes, you can permanently delete a payment terms in DecoGro if the payment terms have not been used in any orders.
To delete payment terms, it must first be archived, then click "Delete".
You cannot delete payment terms which are being used on orders.
